Teriyaki Burgers with Grilled Pineapples

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup teriyaki sauce
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 4 pineapple rings
  • 1/2 onion thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp butter

  • Heat skillet, grill pan or grill to a medium heat.
  • To make the burgers combine ground burger, egg, bread crumbs and teriyaki sauce. Work the ingredients together with your hands. In my opinion combining it with your hands is the best way to mix it up, though don't squeeze it or overwork the meat, it's a tough balance to fully mix the ingredients in without working the meat too much. I wish you luck on this.
  • Form 4 patties. Make them just a bit bigger than your bun (they'll shrink with cooking) then press down a bit in the middle to help avoid a burger that bulges in the middle.
  • Cook until burger is cooked through, approximately 6 minutes per side pending your heat.
  • Grill up the pineapple slices on either a grill pan or outside grill to get those beautiful grill marks. This also boosts the flavor, but don't cook too long or they'll fall apart before you get them too the burger.
  • Meanwhile saute the onions in butter until they are a beautiful caramelized color.
  • Serve burger on bun, topped with grilled pineapple and sauteed onions.
  • Enjoy!
