Everyone stresses the importance of Me Time. You know, the time you get to spend doing something for you. Taking care of yourself so you can take care of everything else you have to take care of. Reducing stress, taking a step away from the chaos of work and family, as well as every other obligation is something we all need to do every now and then. It’s not always easy to find that time, but it’s good to squeeze in when we can. Even if it’s just five minutes or an entire afternoon. Even the smallest break can give us an energy boost and reduce stress.
I’m the kind of person who knows I need to do these things, but unless my husband shuts my computer and tells me I need to take a break, I probably won’t. I consistently have a to do list a mile long and growing. With all of the obligations I have around here, I’m always on the move. Even my life coach told me she was amazed I was functioning considering I rarely take time for myself.
To give me a little help I decided to create a printable. I can post this near me in my office as a reminder of what I can do. Rather than sitting there trying to run through all of the ideas in my head to choose what I want to do I can quickly pick a me time activity, do it, enjoy it, and get back to work more motivated and productive than I was before.
Honestly, me time really does wonders for me. Before I started taking anxiety medication I had no idea how tense I was. Between my medication and my life coach giving me some assignments to carve out some time for myself I’ve noticed I’m a much happier person. Since my list has helped me so much, I decided to share it with you too. Just print out the pdf, post it somewhere you’ll see it, and start enjoying some me time. You can even create your own list if you don’t find interest in the ideas I shared. In case you can’t see the image above, here is the complete list of me time ideas.
