TAGG Your Purchases for the Greater Good

by Mary 6 Comments

I was asked to promote TAGG however I did not receive any form of compensation, financial, gift card or product in exchange for this post. All opinions are my own.

Do you remember last year when I went out for an amazing wine tasting event to raise money for charity? I had a blast and at the end of the event we were asked to download an app to our phones called TAGG (Together a Greater Good). I did it in full tipsy enthusiasm even though I wasn’t quite sure what that app was or how to use it.

I didn’t think much about this app again until I started to see information about TAGG show up at various drive thru windows and on counters at several different businesses around the Omaha area. I may not have a good memory for some things, but this I knew I had seen before and I knew exactly where I had seen it. Back at that wine event.

Because the world works in apparently magical ways, it wasn’t even a week later that Katy called me and asked if I’d be interested in learning more about TAGG and shouting it out here on the blog. Living a Sunshine Life is all about discovering new smiles and promoting the positive, so how could I say no! This organization is all about helping you donate to your favorite non-profits without spending an extra penny. Yes, TAGG is definitely on the same wavelength as Living a Sunshine Life, and if you’re reading this, then I’m going to guarantee this is right up your alley as well.

About TAGG (Together a Greater Good)

So easy, here’s how it works!

1) Visit participating businesses.  When it’s time to pay, tap the orange TAGG My Purchase button and tell the cashier/server you want to TAGG.

2) You’ll be asked to enter the purchase amount, then the cashier/server will provide a QR code for the app to scan.

2) Choose your the organization you want to support.  The business will donate 5% of your purchase to them!

Here’s a video to give you a better idea.

Giveaway

Simple enough, right? The hardest part is downloading the app, and that’s not hard at all. The download for Android and iOS is right here ready for you. To help motivate you to try out the app TAGG is giving away a $25 gift card to Karma Koffee in Omaha! Giveaway ends April 30th, so get out there and start TAGGing!

Here’s how to participate for your chance to win:

  1. Download the TAGG app (if you haven’t already)
  2. Visit your favorite business participating in the TAGG program.
  3. TAGG your purchase at that business.
  4. Come back here and comment letting me know you where you went and that you TAGGed your purchase.
  5. A winner will be selected using random.org. TAGG will verify the TAGG purchase/donation and will then contact the winner for their mailing address to receive the gift card!

I last TAGGed at the Tavern after a wonderful evening with friends. I love how easy and conscious it is to give to a charity that you are passionate about. So far, I always give to Catholic Charities since I am on the Junior Board and I love that TAGG is another outlet to create awareness and maybe even add patrons to such a great charity.

Yes! I love that it builds awareness too! I’m so happy they asked me to share TAGG here because it really is a great way to get the word out about so many charities all at the same time. It’s wonderful for everyone involved.
