Thank you to Poise for sponsoring todays entertaining, yet honest discussion about light bladder leakage. One of those conversations you don’t want to have, but you’re so relieved to hear that other people deal with it too.
Do you know what happens when I sneeze?
You would be correct if you answered any of these: A.) Reel back in pain. I have some powerful sneezes. B.) Do a little dance. It’s sort of a little martial arts hand wave thing with some knee bends while squeezing my thighs together. C.) Run to the bathroom to see if my suspicions were right that light bladder leakage strikes again.
Now picture me with a cold where I’m sneezing and coughing! I’m squeezing muscles I didn’t know I had all day long, repeatedly and causing not so attractive things to happen, both noticeable (as described above), but also the private stuff that you don’t want anyone to know about. You know LBL, light bladder leakage. It happens to more people than you think, say one third of women.
My story starts as this somewhat confident young woman who finds herself as a first time mom. My kids are cute! And they make me laugh, yet another LBL trigger!
I knew pregnancy would change me, but I had no idea how much it would change me. Imagine my surprise the first time I sneezed and it wasn’t just my mouth and nose that needed a tissue. Yeah, it only got worse for me. I really wish I had listened to my Doctor. She told me to practice those kegel exercises. I knew they would help with delivery, but I had no idea they would end up being a light bladder leakage tip.
Seriously Ladies, practice those Kegel exercises. They’ll help you out in so many areas of your life, and not just the light bladder leakage. You can thank me later. Just go practice them! They are also called pelvic floor muscle exercises. Ask your doctor for some. I’m sure they can give you advice on it.
Anyway, ever since I had kids it’s been a downhill spiral on the light bladder leakage train. It gets worse and worse, and with that comes a more and more embarrassment as I start worrying, was that the time it’s going to be noticeable to others. I mean, not just people noticing my crazy sneeze dance, but noticing other things as well?
Luckily I learned about Poise and their new microliners! They are designed just for light bladder leakage. Finally a solution I can use!
Yes, yes I did frame my package of Poise microliners with the alyssum in the front yard. I was feeling a bit feminine today in my creative photography.
Speaking of the Poise microliner, they feature SAM (Super Absorbent Material) to let you remain confident all day long. In my case, it lets me do my little ninja sneeze dance without a race to the bathroom as the encore. That’s a plus for me!
Thanks again to Poise for sponsoring this little journey into the TMI realm of my personal story of light bladder leakage. I’m sure you enjoyed it. I tried to make it as painless as possible. Also, don’t forget to grab your FREE Poise microliner sample kit! I’m telling you, Poise has our back with this stuff.
