Everyone’s story is different, but we all have similar components to our stories. One of those components that I’m sure I share with many of you is that I have to work to squeeze in just a bit of me time among the chaos of the day.
As a stay at home, work from home, homeschooling, military spouse mom I don’t get much time alone. I’m either helping the kids, working with clients, spending time with my husband, and when all is quiet in the house I have a dog and two cats seeking out a little extra love. Oh, and a fish. Yes, even the fish begs for attention. If I happen to sit down next to the aquarium he’s immediately there at the edge staring at me. I’ll admit it, I’ve had more than a few full conversations with the fish.
When I do get a precious few moments alone, whether they are spontaneous or planned I like to grab a book, a notebook or even a sketch book and have a cup of hot tea and a delicious snack, all for me. I’m not being selfish, it’s just sometimes I’d like to fully enjoy a treat without sharing two thirds of it with the kiddos.
In honor of celebrating that little bit of me time I can sometimes carve into my day, I’d like to share with you a fantastic recipe I came up with using Müller® Ice Cream Inspired Yogurt. There are three fantastic flavors including Raspberry Chocolate Chip, Mint Chocolate Chip and Vanilla Bean. For this recipe I’ll use the Vanilla Bean flavor. If you’re really short on time, I like to just grab one of the Müller® Ice Cream Inspired Yogurt’s out of the fridge for a quick snack. They are so good alone or mixed in a recipe. I love them!
You can easily find them at Walmart in the dairy case. I like to stock up so I know I’ll have them on hand when I get a free moment.
Here is the recipe. I’ll give you a quick step by step, then an easy to reference recipe at the bottom. Seriously, this recipe is easy and delicious!
First you’ll want to pick your Müller® Ice Cream Inspired Yogurt. Like I mentioned before I used the Vanilla Bean flavor.
Next grab a tablespoon of honey.
And about a half teaspoon of dried orange peel. If you want less orange flavor you can drop that down to a quarter teaspoon. It’s up to you!
Add all three ingredients to a small bowl.
Mix them up to combine. It’s that simple!
At this point you can eat it right away, bit I like to refrigerate it for about an hour to get the orange flavor to meld into the dip. Don’t leave it in the fridge too long though, it does start to thin and lose the creaminess after too long.
Finally add some orange zest for garnish if you’d like or just enjoy it while reading your favorite book. That’s what I like to do.
Then sometimes, my reading time doesn’t last too long before I’m bombarded by kids again. That’s okay though. I love them and they’re pretty darn cute. I really don’t mind sharing. At least I got a few pages read.
