Yesterday I pulled all of my creative juices into focus on the topic of making sure I was never lost on having a blog topic again by creating a list of 100 ways to find inspiration for a blog post.
Today I woke up and was completely stumped about what to write. I know, I sighed in annoyance at the conundrum I found myself in yet again. Then I had a brilliant idea. Why not use the list I created yesterday to help me come up with a blog topic for today!
I know, “Hello, McFly” get with the picture!
And that’s literally what I did. I got with the picture. One of my ideas was to scroll through recent pictures, then I remembered I recently took a picture of a tree stump in nature, specifically so I could create the above picture with words.
Today I was stumped, and I used being stumped to come up with a blog post. Brilliant, right?
Now I don’t want to waste your time sitting here talking about a tree stump, or the problem I had with not being able to come up with a blog post topic, even though it appears that’s what I did so far into this post. Instead, I want to give you a little inspiration, or maybe some motivation into how you approach life.
Do you ever get stumped in life? Find yourself in a rut? Don’t know which way to turn next. Maybe you’re overwhelmed and it’s all piling on and you can’t make sense of any of it. Maybe you’ve just accomplished a big life goal and you’ve spent so much time working on it now you don’t know what to do with yourself. Maybe you’ve been doing the same thing for so long you’re ready for a change.
Don’t let the rut control you, no matter what it is. If you’re looking to get out of the rut but don’t know which way to turn, take a look at my list of ideas on how to get inspired for your next blog post. Sure I wrote those specifically for bloggers and other writers to use to get inspired. But as I looked over the list again today, I realized it has some great ideas on how to begin a new chapter on your life. Everything from networking with new people, talking to those you already know, research, research, research, as well as some introspective techniques.
While not every idea may work for you, you might find a technique over there that can help you get out of whatever rut you find yourself in. A creative rut, career rut, lifestyle rut, health rut, or even what to watch next on Netflix rut (which can be quite stressful some days for me, ha!).
I’m going to do my best to use this list to benefit me in anyway I can, and I’m hoping it makes me more productive and facilitates a way for me to live a more productive life, not just in my blogging life either!
What has you stumped today? Share your ruts in the comments below, and if you’ve found some inspiration to start climbing out of that rut, share with us what that is as well! We’re here to support, celebrate and smile together, no matter how big or small the challenge is.
