Women are under a lot of pressure in today’s world. Between work, kids, social expectations, relationships, and more there is a lot of stress built up. With social media feeds showing a flow of perfect moments in so many people’s lives it’s easy to forget that people aren’t sharing the challenging times they go through.
I want to create a gathering of women in my life who are amazing people with a lot on their plates and remind them how amazing they are and the great things they are doing in the world. I want to empower them to recognize the strengths they have and realize they are using them daily to enhance the lives of everyone around them, especially me.
A women’s empowerment gathering doesn’t have to be a huge retreat or conference with keynote speakers and breakout sessions. You can create an uplifting, empowering get together right in your own home.
How to Create a Simple Women’s Empowerment Gathering
When you’re creating an empowerment gathering for your friends, think about what you want to accomplish. Are you letting them know they are appreciated? Helping them recognize their strengths? Encouraging them through their challenges? Maybe you want to do all of the above or something else.
It’s a good idea to find a focus then build your gathering from there.
Build the Atmosphere
Think about the mood you want to create with your gathering. Are you looking for something calm and relaxing, or maybe something powerful and upbeat? Whatever you decide to do you make sure your decorations and music match the mood.
For calm and contemplative you might consider placing word stones and candles around and playing relaxing instrumentals with dimmed lights.
In the case of an upbeat, power meeting, consider some strong female vocalists who share a positive message. Brighter colors and some fun centerpieces might help boost the mood as well.
Food
What to serve at a gathering is always a tough choice for me. In this case, since I’m working on empowering my friends and family DOVE Chocolate PROMISES are perfect!
Chocolate is always a winner in my circle of friends, plus DOVE Chocolate PROMISES comes in three flavors, so everyone can pick their favorite. Dark chocolate, sea salt and caramel, and white and dark chocolate swirl.
Not only is chocolate a perfect choice to share with friends at the get-together, but the wrappers are inspirational as well! I love the motto “Choose less ordinary” and the messages are a great reminder to step outside of expectations and embrace the things we want to do, not just what people expect us to do.
And yet another reason DOVE Chocolate PROMISES are the perfect choice for a women’s empowerment gathering is because of CARE. CARE is partnering with DOVE Chocolate, produced by Mars Wrigley Confectionery, to empower women who grow cocoa in the communities of Ivory Coast. They will be building Village Savings and Loan Associations in communities where the cocoa is sourced. This helps female farmers obtain funds that can be invested in their farms, their communities, and their future.
This is a great message to share with your guests about DOVE Chocolate PROMISES when you serve them. Supporting the organizations that support others is a great way to help empower others.
Party Favors
Sending home little gifts with your friends is a great way to help remind them how special they are. I created these fun printable cards so your guests can take home their own DOVE Chocolate PROMISES. It’s a great reminder for them to do a little something special for themselves because they deserve it.
Click on the image below and print out the pdf on cardstock. Cut them apart, then attach one of the DOVE Chocolate PROMISES with double-sided tape. Such an easy project that will mean a lot to your guests.
Activities
If your group is the creative crafty sort setting up an area for them to let their creative energies flow is a perfect empowerment activity. I’m all about creating collages. I’ve loved them for as long as I can remember, which is probably why I enjoy scrapbooking.
I like to create collages with the items I already have around the house. In this case, I created a DOVE Chocolate PROMISES collage with the wrappers. Inspirational and colorful! I can hang this up in my office or bedroom as a reminder of the event, empowerment, and deliciousness of life. Don’t worry, I didn’t eat all of the DOVE Chocolate PROMISES in one sitting. I unwrapped them and placed them in a bowl to share for later.
Mandala’s or zentangles are other great options for creative crafty people. Both are wonderful for personal expression.
If your group is more of the writing type you can always pick up some small inexpensive journals to share and give them empowering writing prompts. The DOVE Chocolate PROMISES wrappers are perfect! If they’re willing to share what they’ve written at the end, even better. It might bring up some fun discussions.
Empowerment
Empowering others can be personally empowering as well. It’s sort of like a giant expanding circle. You empower someone, that empowers both you and the other person, then that person will hopefully take that feeling of empowerment and share it with someone else. The cycle of empowerment continues to grow, and we find ourselves in a world of confident, empowered people. That’s pretty amazing and it doesn’t take a huge event to get it started. Just a small, empowerment gathering with friends and family.
Make the most of your empowerment efforts by picking up the big canister of DOVE Chocolate PROMISES. It’s 31oz, which means even more empowerment to share with others. I picked mine up at Sam’s Club in the candy aisle. Find a Sam’s Club near you!
You can save even more when you sign up for a free Ibotta account. You’ll earn $1.50 with the purchase of a 31 oz canister of DOVE PROMISES Chocolate 3 Flavor Assortment.
