Green bean almondine is a simple, traditional side dish that pairs well with a wide variety of meals.
This recipe for green bean almondine is a quick and easy side dish complimenting any traditional comfort food meal. Beef, chicken, pork, seafood, and even some pasta dishes are all wonderful partners for this simple side dish. Additionally, if you’re looking for something a bit healthier for a Thanksgiving side dish, green bean almondine is an excellent choice that will go well with the turkey and make all your guests happy.
For this recipe I suggest cooking the green beans first, then drizzling the butter sauce over the beans before serving. However, if you have a big enough skillet there’s no reason you can’t add the beans to the skillet and toss them in the sauce. If you really wanted to, you could even cook the beans and all in the butter sauce, just be careful so you don’t cook the garlic too long. Garlic cooked too long will become bitter and lose it’s sweet quality.
