Mother’s Day is just around the corner and it’s time to start thinking about what you could possibly give your mother to show appreciation for all of the amazing things she’s done for you over the years. The wonderful thing is, you don’t have to spend a lot to give a gift with a big impact.
I have a bunch of little make up pouches laying around courtesy of my Ipsy subscription, so I knew I should do something with them. Gift pouches were the perfect idea!
Don’t worry if you don’t have an Ipsy subscription and you haven’t been collecting these little bags. There are many other ways you can handle this. Take a trip to the dollar store and see what kind of makeup bags you can find. Pick up some pencil bags in the office/school supply section of the store. If you’re crafty, grab some scrap fabric and sew a cute little bag with your mom in mind.
Now that you have your bag, it’s time to fill it! Think about your mom and what she likes to do, what her personality is like, and see what you can come up with.
In this little collection I have a couple of seed packets for a mom who likes to work in the garden. Nail polish for a mom who loves to do her nails. Lip gloss for the mom who, well, likes lip gloss. A little packet that has a face mask for relaxation (I found those at Target), I even threw in some jewelry. The necklace was a beautiful necklace my kids gave me for Mother’s Day last year, then I have a ring in there I got out of a jewelry candle.
There are so many other ideas you could run with, such as a handwritten note, quotes, candy or chocolates, gift certificates, photos, small hand crafted gifts, a small framed picture, tealight candles, a small inspirational book, pens, a cute small journal for someone who likes to write, recipe cards, cute trinkets, or if she has a collection of something small like spoons or thimbles you could even throw one of those in. Speaking of thimbles, what about a nice set of sewing scissors for quilting?
No matter what interests your mom has, with a little thought (it’s all about the thought we put into it, right?) I’m sure you can come up with an amazing little Mother’s Day Gift Pouch for your mom.
What are you giving your mom for Mother’s Day this year? I gave you some ideas, now it’s time to tell me what you’re thinking in the comments!
