I’ve been on a S’mores kick lately. You probably figured this out. Recently I told you about my Red White and Blueberry S’mores just in time for the Fourth of July, and I also worked with GM Cereals to create S’mores cereal bars. Well, I’m not done yet and I’m still getting creative. This time I decided I wanted to find a simple way to give my S’mores a flavor boost. I was successful!
I won’t take too long to share the secret because it is that simple. Just go out and find some specialty candy bar squares.
You know the kind, they are the ones that are individually wrapped and usually cost a bit more. They are each have different fillings, such as raspberry, mint, brownie bits or the caramel pictured above.
It’s a great way to boost flavor while still keeping the S’mores true to their traditional style. I wasn’t sure how it would turn out, but I was pretty sure it would be delicious. We made caramel, raspberry and a dark chocolate variety this round and every single one was met with thumbs up.
There are so many different gourmet candy bar options out there I’m a bit giddy to start exploring even more flavors to see which is my favorite. The caramel is my favorite right now, but I really want to try a chocolate bacon, or maybe a chocolate chipotle. Both sound fantastic!
What flavor of gourmet chocolate are you most excited to try on your S’mores this summer? Tell me in the comments below! I can’t wait to see what you’ll inspire me with.
