Have you been mindful of what you are doing today? Paying attention to the task you are doing at each specific moment? Are you living in the moment? Intentionally living and doing things with a purpose and putting the multitude of thoughts on hold can have a major impact on our lives.

Many people often spend much of their time multitasking, worrying about what’s on our to do list, and planning the next task before the first is complete. We spend time with our children, friends and family, but our minds are often in other places. For some it’s a rare occurrence to give anyone or anything one hundred percent of our full attention.

There is a time and place for thoughts of the past or dreams of the future. However, there also needs to be a place for living in the moment and being present mentally.

In a fast paced world it’s not always easy to slow down and appreciate each moment as it passes. I have some tips to help you find more time and space in your life for living in the moment.

Back on the Path: Life Coach Review

Coaching isn’t just for sports anymore, well, unless you consider life a sport. Some people do, and I suppose in some ways it is.

Life coaches come in all shapes and sizes. There are coaches to help you with motivation, productivity, careers, organization and more. I had the opportunity to work with Erica Frye at The Stork Scientist for three complimentary sessions and I loved all of them.

What is a Life Coach?

In case you’re not familiar with life coaching, I’ll give you an idea of what it’s all about. Usually a life coach is going to be someone who specializes in helping individuals with a certain area of their life. For example, Erica is a pregnancy and new mom coach. She’s adding a new area onto her specialties though by being a mom coach, sans the new, as well. A life coach, such as Erica, isn’t a therapist. They aren’t there to diagnose a mental illness or help you work through challenges that stemmed from past experiences. Instead they are looking to provide you with guidance, motivation and tips to organize the specific areas of your life you need help with from where you are right now and moving into the future.

Today’s post is written by Danielle Herzog. From her website: Danielle Herzog is a freelance writer, speaker, television correspondent, mother and member of one ridiculously insane large Italian family. And by insane, she’s referring to aunts that still pinch her cheeks, and uncles who slap her husband’s face when they say hello.  She has about thirty cousins whose names are Godfather characters….

100 Good Deeds: Inspiring Social Change One Bead at a Time

What’s the last good deed you did? What about the last good deed someone did for you? Good deeds are defined by Mary Fisher, the designer of the 100 Good Deeds Bracelets, as going out of your way to help someone while remaining anonymous. Good deeds don’t have to be elaborate either. Send someone flowers, pay for the drive through order behind you, or maybe leave food or clothing at the doorstep of a family in need.

The Good Deeds Movement has a fashionable way to inspire random acts of kindness, transform communities, and empower women around the world who create handmade bracelets specifically for 100 Good Deeds.

Getting Back to Active with Arthritis

This past weekend I went on a mile long nature hike with my family and it was fantastic. I enjoyed every last bit of it because a couple of years ago it was something I couldn’t do with them easily. About four years ago I had a really bad flare up of osteoarthritis that knocked me off of my active game for a lot longer than I ever would have wanted.

When my husband was deployed I worked with a personal trainer to help keep me active, get me into better shape, and relieve some of the stress that goes along with deployments. It worked. While I still had a lot of stress and emotions to deal with, the personal trainer was getting me out of the house and among the rest of the living in society and I was making progress with him. I was getting stronger and it felt fantastic.

Then my knees started popping. All the time.

How to Focus on the Important Moments in Life

Family time is one of my greatest loves in life. My oldest just turned eight and I can’t believe how much she’s grown. Or that I’ve been a mom for eight years! The other thing I can’t believe is how busy we’ve become over the past few years. We have more play dates, field trips, and now 4H adventures than I can keep track of. In addition to all of this, we still make time for family time adventures. These are the important moments in life.

This week, we went geocaching.
