It’s been years since I picked up a stencil brush, and even then it’s an art form I’d never mastered. When Emily from Stencil Revolution contacted me and asked if I’d like to try out some of their stencils I jumped at the opportunity. With the new house I needed some new wall decor, and I’ve been itching to try out some crafting in my new office.

How to Create a Vision Board
Vision boards are a great reminder of the focus you want to keep at the front of your mind. It’s easy to set a goal then let life bury it. A vision board, if kept in a visible location, can act as that visual motivator of what you are working toward. This year I created a vision board…
Water Balloon Paint Art Project
It’s summer! The temps are hitting the high 90s and above, and I’m starting to feel like I’m in the tropics. It’s time to cool off with the sprinklers and maybe a few water balloons. We’ve been doing this routine for a few weeks now, but now I think it’s time to do something a little different with the water balloons. What if we fill them with paint and do a few art projects! I mean, I might as well bring the beautiful colors of the tropics to my own backyard to match the temperatures, right?
All American Thank You Jars
I love to create fun gifts for friends and family, and I thought it was about time to come up with something new that I knew some of my favorite people would love. A filled mason jar is always a hit and with limited edition Skittles America Mix available on Amazon, I had the perfect idea. With Skittles sweetness in signature American colors; All American Thank You Jars was it.
Graham Cracker House Winter Wonderland
We have a food allergy in this household. It’s been around for a couple of years and it changed our approach to a lot of recipes and even our many celebrations from birthdays to holidays. My youngest daughter is allergic to Red Dye 40, a common artificial dye found in many food products, lotions, and even toothpaste. When she comes in contact with it, either ingesting it, or even just skin contact, she breaks out in hives. We’ve found that just a little exposure doesn’t usually do more than a slight red tinge to her mouth area, too much will bring on the hives and make her extremely uncomfortable for a few days. Oh, and it’s probably a good thing to mention, that red dye is found in her allergy medication, so we have to be even more diligent in our search to locate the dye free medication for her.
How to Make a Ribbon Christmas Tree
There is always a way to use up excess craft supplies. In my case, ribbon. I have a huge box of ribbon stored in my basement and I realized I haven’t had it out in over a year! It’s time to either start using these supplies or finding new homes for them. As much as I want to simplify my craft collection I’m not ready to get rid of any of it yet, so instead I’m going to see what projects I can make. I started off with an adorable holiday decoration you can set up on a window sill, on a shelf, as part of a tablescape. It’s up to you and it’s easy to make.
Suit Up! Gift Basket for Him
My husband is in the military so our schedule and routines can be a bit crazy sometimes and it does mean we have to get creative to create time together sometimes. One of our favorite together times is TV times. I’ll admit it. It’s just nice to be able to sit back, relax and not worry about anyone or anything for awhile. We’re both busy so being not busy, or at least taking a moment to pretend we’re not, is welcome.
I decided to theme one of my gifts to my husband around one of our favorite TV shows. The series may be over, but that doesn’t mean we don’t enjoy watching it over and over again. For that reason I designed a gift basket to encourage my husband to Suit Up!
How to Make Homemade Catnip Filled Cat Toys
I love my cat. Anyone who really knows me, knows this to be true. He’s an extremely important part of my life and one of my best friends. He’s by my side pretty much the entire time I’m at home and we have our own snuggle routine at bedtime. He loves me so much he wants to be as close to me as possible, once even going so far as to lay on my face! Because he is so special to me, I want only the best for him. Lucky for his adopted sister, Bagheera, she gets in on the special love and quality products too.
This is Arthur, my lazy, snuggly, attitude driven feline. He’s loud, opinionated, and doesn’t take pestering from the dog. Well, at least not without giving her an earful. He’s my buddy and I wouldn’t want him any other way.
