I want to create a gathering of women in my life who are amazing people with a lot on their plates and remind them how amazing they are and the great things they are doing in the world. I want to empower them to recognize the strengths they have and realize they are using them daily to enhance the lives of everyone around them, especially me.
Creating a Quick and Easy Friends Night In
When my kids were younger I found myself staying in more managing bedtimes, mealtimes, and naptimes. I swore when my kids were older there would be more time for me to spend with my friends. I would make it happen.
Then my kids got older and those bedtimes and naptimes were replaced with playdates, sports, and other activities. Assessing the future was not my strong suit at the time.
I’ve since discovered more creativity is needed to incorporate social time with my own friends that doesn’t revolve around the kids. Sometimes I just need to take off the mom hat for a while.
The best time to sneak in some social time with friends is when the kids are having a sleepover at a friend or relative’s house.
Here’s how I create a fun friends night in that’s quick and easy to put together, even on short notice.
Creating a Morning Routine for a Positive Start To Your Day
Normally when I talk about mornings with people I find my late nights and sleepy mornings are usually the topics of discussion. This morning, however, as I was taking my morning Nature Made® Multi for Her plus Omega-3s Adult Gummies I realized I created a positively focused morning routine without thinking about it.

August Writing Prompts
This past month I’ve been thinking about all the achievements my kids have had in their short lives. Especially those achievements they have a hard time recognizing as an accomplishment. Sometimes it’s hard to see that even a little progress is an achievement even if you haven’t reached the final goal. It’s also not always…

A Reminder to be Patient
We’ve been busy lately. When are we not busy? While driving the kids to one of their many activities and needing to pick up a couple more kids to take along I found myself behind the slowest drivers ever. In all lanes with no way to pass. Come to think of it, this has been…
The Power of an Undo List
I am the queen of to do lists. You’ll rarely find me without my to do list, and it became even easier for me when I started keeping a bullet journal. Everything is in one spot so I always have the list with me. My to do list never has just a couple of items…
Respect Blog and Journal Prompts
Respect shows itself in different ways. Everything from the respect we give someone who’s older than us, respect we show authority, and even our own self-respect. You can show it, earn it, give it, even expect it. This month, in line with the #SunshineYourFeed challenge, we’re going to explore the many faces of respect in…
Making Healthy Choices with 4-H Food Smart Families
In addition to the clubs, programs, contests, and educational resources, 4-H also does a lot for the community. They provide opportunities and encourage kids to get out in the community to volunteer. Since 2001, one of the amazing program opportunities 4-H offers in partnership with United Healthcare is 4-H Food Smart Families.
Almost 16 million children live in households that are food insecure. This means they don’t have consistent access to food year round. The Food Smart Families program works with these families to educate them on how to plan, shop for and prepare healthy meals.
In the past six years 340,000 youth and their families in 14 states have benefitted from healthy living programs provided by the partnership between United Healthcare and 4-H.
