Wow, it’s been an amazing ride this year. I never would have guessed how much blogging would change my life, but it has. Sounds strange, but it’s true!
Thanks to networking with some amazing bloggers, I’ve learned a ton about how to manage a blog, how to write a blog, how to tweak backend stuff. I’ve learned how to run giveaways, link ups and twitter parties. I made a ton of new friends. And I learned that SEO is like the game Othello. It takes a minute to learn but a lifetime to master.
In honor of my first full year of blogging, I wanted to share with you some of the blog post highlights from the past year. I’ve come a long way in quality. I hope you enjoy this journey down Living a Sunshine Life memory lane.
Here is Living a Sunshine Life, Year in Review
One of my proudest accomplishments was organizing my junk pile basement and turning it into my homeschool classroom. What’s even more amazing about this accomplishment, is I did it in ONE month (you wouldn’t believe how much time I spent on it) and I won first place in an organizational challenge. I won over $500 in prizes from this accomplishment and I never would have done it if I hadn’t started blogging.
I was amazed at the reaction I received from this post. It was a post that came out of frustration, which I normally try to avoid, but it is one of my top viewed posts of the year. I’m happy that I’ve been able to help some people during deployments. I receive more emails with questions about this post than any other post. It really is heartwarming. I love to hear about how many people want to write to the troops, many who don’t even know a soldier personally.
I spent some time exploring my ability to write in a different style, in this case, I tried out story telling with the wedding picture that almost didn’t happen. I had a lot of people tell my my story was cute, and a lot more tell me they’re happy it had a happy ending. I’m hoping to do more of this type of post in 2014. I fully expect 2014 to be full of enjoyable randomness as I continue to grow as a blogger.
I was surprised at the response I received for my Christmas Tree this year! In case you missed it, we made our tree out of books. It was a lot of fun, it was different, and it sounds like many of you LOVED the idea! I even had friends over here taking pictures of it.
That’s just a quick stroll through Living a Sunshine Life in 2013. There were a lot of posts I didn’t even highlight, such as recipes, crafts and product reviews! Don’t forget the giveaways!
There will be a lot more great posts coming in 2014. I can’t wait to share them with you. I have a lot more sunshine to share with everyone.
It’s been an amazing 2013. Thank you for be a part of it with me.
