Wow this year has been amazing. A lot has happened and, in my opinion, my blog has done nothing but improve. It’s been an amazing journey and my love for blogging has only increased. It’s one reason I decided to let go of my direct sales business and focus only on blogging! Here are some highlights from 2015 on the blog.
One thing that helped me out was a brand new camera. It took me awhile to pick it up because to a beginner a DSLR can be a bit scary, but now that I’m getting more comfortable with it learning to use it better is one of my goals for 2016!
To help improve my blog even more I took several classes through Social Fabric University, and I even attended my very first blog conference! SoFabUOTR (that’s Social Fabric University on the Road for those not familiar with it).
While at the conference I even won a photography contest. I was shocked! I was up against some amazing bloggers and photographers. Let’s just say my heart swelled and it was a huge boost in my motivation to improve my photography even more. Oh, and that contest was when I tried my very first macaron. It was amazing and has quickly become my new favorite sweet treat.
This year I also spent a whole lot more time documenting the city I live in, Omaha. I worked with several amazing local business, attended some great charity events, had fun with my family and caught a few shows at the Orpheum and Holland Center. You can browse my Omaha adventures here.
This year I also started my very first link up! The Sunshine Life Blog Link Up. I’ve had a lot of fun with it and met some amazing bloggers. Check it out and link up if you’d like and maybe find some other great blogs to read.
Here are some other highlights of 2015.
Most viewed posts of 2015
Not only was this one of my top viewed posts of 2015, but it was also the most repinned post of 2015 on Pinterest!
My Favorite Post of 2015
This was a hard decision to make because I had fun with so many posts this year. I think my favorite was the sponsored post I did for Hillshire Farm Polska Kielbasa. Not only do I love the recipe I shared with you, but I loved sharing a bit of my family history with you. My husband loves researching genealogy, so it was a great tie in. Here’s my Runza Casserole recipe!
Most out of my comfort zone post of 2015.
I like to challenge myself when I get the chance and one of the most challenging posts I did this year was a two post series I did for Purina that required me to make 2 videos using a GoPro, and it had to be made with our dog! It was a lot of fun and I learned a ton about the GoPro, video editing, timing, and so much more. Here are the two posts, the videos are embedded into the posts if you want to see what I came up with.
A lot happened in 2015 and it was so much fun to learn more about blogging and all of you, the Living a Sunshine Life community. I can’t wait to see what 2016 has to bring. I hope you’ll stay engaged, follow me on social media to see other things that are happening in my life and my mind, as well as share some of the amazing things you have going on!
