I don’t know about you, but for us, a date night between my husband and I is a rare occurrence. When they do happen I want to stuff that guy Murphy, you know the guy who says if something can go wrong it will, in a box and ship him off to some place far far away. Of course, I’m not just going to beg Murphey not to get in the way of my plans, I’m going to do what I can to make sure I’m prepared for some of those potentially date threatening moments.
There are three essentials I always like to have on hand at home. Emergen-C, Advil and ChapStick.
Emergen-C is great to make sure I’m keeping up on my daily vitamins. I love that they have over 20 varieties of vitamin supplement drink mixes. More Healthy Days, More Healthy Nights. I’m going to do my best to make sure I’m taking advantage of those healthy days.
Next, I keep Advil Tablet vials on hand because they are the perfect size to fit in my purse to head off a headache or arthritis pain that decides to show up unexpectedly. This has come in handy for both myself and my husband. There’s no way we want to call it a night early if we don’t have to, so having some Advil on hand is a must. Nothing’s stronger, longer lasting or better on your tough aches and pains than Advil, and nothing works on more pains than Advil (among OTC pain relievers).
Don’t forget about having those kissably smooth lips for those smooches you sneak in during your date night. Getting away from the kiddos is a great time to steal a few extra kisses from your significant other. I keep my lips soft and smooth with ChapStick Total Hydration. I love that it is an advanced nourishing formula with argan oil and avocado butter and rosehip oils. ChapStick Total Hydration makes me smile in more ways than one!
I have one more must have for my purse when we go out on date night, and that’s a simple DIY purse folder. I always lose important bits of paper in my purse and if I need tickets for a show, receipts, coupons, lists or anything else, I can easily keep them in reach and organized in my purse. This is a complete game changer! It’s easy to make too, here’s how.
For this project I just used three of the strips, anymore than that makes your folder a bit bulky, so you can add more if you want, but you’ve been warned. Using three strips will give you six folder.
Take your first strip and mark out the half way point, which should be at the 6 inch mark, then a quarter of an inch out on either side of it.
First fold your paper in half, which should be at the center mark. Make sure you give it a good crease so it stays folded shut when you assemble your folders. Next take the outside edges of your paper and fold them into the quarter inch mark on their side. This will give you the folder pocket without making it too bulky right at the center crease.
To help you find the things you stick in your folder easily, you’ll want to trim up the edges of the folder flap. I just cut a triangle corner off each folder flap. It doesn’t have to be perfect, and if you want some uniformity, just cut one corner first, then use the triangle you just cut off as a guide on the other side.
Repeat these steps with all of your 6 inch by 12 inch strips, then open them all up and stack them on top of each other so the center crease lines up. You can be fancy and stitch them up with a needle and thread, but I went the easy route and stapled them. My staples weren’t straight, oops, but they got the job done!
To make sure your purse folder doesn’t snag on anything in your purse, make sure the folded part of the staples are on the inside of the folder.
This is what the back should sort of look like. Remember, I said my stapling wasn’t straight.
There you have it, four fantastic essentials for your purse to help you be prepared for date night. Don’t forget to pick up Advil Tablet Vials, Emergen-C, and ChapStick Total Hydration at Walmart next time you’re out. These products are great to have on hand for any occasion.
